town and port in the Ve-lebit Channel; population 5,998.
The town lies like an amphitheatre on the very edge of the
forested cove called Senjska Draga, at the foot of predominantly
bare karst slants of Velebit and Senjsko Bilo. The geographical
position of Senj is primarily determined by mainland communications;
it is the shortest connection between Zagreb or Sisak.
